15-Year-Old Leo Scott Epting Shot Dead: On March 7, 2026, at approximately 5:30 AM, deputies responded to reports of a gunshot victim on Tanglewood Way in Gray Court, South Carolina. Upon arrival, authorities discovered an individual in the roadway who, tragically, did succumb to their injuries.
The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), SLED Child Fatality Task Force, and the Laurens County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene. Out of respect for the sensitivity of the case and to maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigation, officials have not released further details at this time.
Authorities have arrested 18-year-old Ryan Ingersoll of Charlotte, North Carolina, charging him with:
Murder, Armed Robbery, Criminal Conspiracy, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime
Additionally, a juvenile suspect has been detained in North Carolina and is awaiting extradition to South Carolina.
The Laurens County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 15-year-old Leo Scott Epting, a young life lost far too soon.
