Kristine M. “Kris” Obituary- Death: Kristine M. Corrigan, affectionately known as Kris and to some as “Krystella,” passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at the age of 60 after a difficult illness. She was surrounded by family and close friends at the time of her passing.
A lifelong resident of Rhode Island, Kris grew up in Pawtucket and later resided in North Providence, where she lived until her passing. She was widely known for her warm personality, welcoming spirit, and her ability to form meaningful friendships wherever she went.
The love and support shown during her final days reflected the many lives she touched throughout her lifetime.
Kris is survived by her daughter, Karissa A. Corrigan, and her beloved grandson, Jordan Corrigan, both of North Providence; her mother, Sheila Corrigan (Robertson); her sister, Keri Corrigan and niece, Kaylee; and her sister, Karen Whitfield (Corrigan) and brother-in-law Peter Whitfield, along with her nephew, Marcus Whitfield.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward “Ted” Corrigan, and her fiancé, Robert “Bob” Monast.
Born on November 7, 1965, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Kris graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School and Shea High School (Class of 1983).
She dedicated 38 years to the banking industry, including the last 15 years at Citizens, where she served as an Officer and Commercial Loan Specialist. Known for her strong work ethic, Kris also held part-time positions at local establishments, including Twins, Silvio’s, Tumblesalts, Emery’s Catering, and other restaurants throughout the community.
Outside of work, Kris enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She loved traveling to destinations such as Florida, Ireland, and Italy, creating memories that she treasured deeply.
During the summer months, she was often found enjoying her favorite tradition—“Sunday Funday”—relaxing by the pool, grilling, and hosting gatherings for friends. She had a passion for cooking and bringing people together, making her home a place of warmth and laughter.
