Edward Joseph Engelau Obituary- Death: Edward Joseph Engelau (November 22, 1975 – March 6, 2026) passed away peacefully at his home in Columbus on Friday, March 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Edward was a devoted husband, caring father, dedicated farmer, and faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers.
He was baptized on December 14, 1975, and confirmed on February 11, 1990. Edward carried on his family’s farming tradition with pride and shared his joy and hard work with family, friends, and community. He was cherished for his devotion to his daughters, Maddie, Ella, Annie, and Sophia, and for the countless memories he created with loved ones. Edward is survived by his wife, Erin Morris Engelau; his daughters; his brothers Jason (Tracey), Adam (Casey), and Troy (Jenny) Engelau; honorary brother Greg Baxter; and a large extended family including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and loyal farm employees.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold “Pete” Herman Engelau, and his grandparents Fred and Dorothy Rotert and Herman and Malinda Engelau. Visitation and funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers, with visitation on March 10 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and March 11 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Memorials in memory of Edward may be made to support his daughters’ college education. Edward Engelau’s life was defined by faith, family, and hard work, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
